Marian Mayuga

Piano, Voice, Woodwinds, Early Childhood Education

Marian Mayuga is a Filipina violinist from Quezon City, Metro Manila. This fall, she will be joining the Civic Orchestra of Chicago as a Member and Violin Fellow. She recently graduated from the University of South Florida where she led the USF Symphony Orchestra as Concertmaster and obtained a Master’s Degree in Chamber Music. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from DePaul University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of the Philippines where she graduated magna cum laude and received the Dean's Medal. Her primary teachers include Dr. Carolyn Stuart, Dr. Olga Kaler, Dr. I-Hao Lee, and Prof. Arturo Molina.

 

She is a two-time top prize winner of the Philippine National Music Competition for Young Artists and is an active orchestral and chamber music performer, having performed with numerous ensembles in Tampa, Chicago, and the Philippines. This year, she is a Featured Artist of the FilAm Music Foundation NFP. Marian is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise as both a solo performer and ensemble player, and is committed to inspiring today’s generation of musicians.
